PRIVACY
A private study space, controlled by a parent.
Effective July 28, 2026
This notice describes the product PrepDrop is building and the limited account features currently available. Children's privacy requirements and the final retention schedule require qualified legal review before broader release.
The short version
PrepDrop is designed to collect only the information needed to run a private family study account. A parent owns the account. Children do not provide email addresses. We do not sell personal information, run behavioral ads, create public profiles, or let children contact one another.
Information we collect
- Parent account information: email address, authentication records, and account status.
- Child profile information: a nickname or display name, a protected sign-in credential, an optional broad grade band, and chosen preferences.
- Study information: material a family chooses to upload or paste, confirmed study items, answers, attempts, missed concepts, and progress.
- Operational information: limited security, error, and product events needed to protect and improve the service. Child-entered schoolwork is not intended for analytics properties.
- Messages to us: the information an adult includes when contacting PrepDrop.
Information we intentionally avoid
PrepDrop is not designed to collect a child's email address, full legal name, school name, precise location, social profile, contacts, advertising identifier, or unnecessary birth date. Please do not place sensitive personal information in uploaded school material.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate parents, provide child access, create and save Study Drops, show family-scoped progress, protect the service, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
Uploads and AI processing
Uploaded schoolwork will be stored privately and made available only through authorized family access. When AI-assisted study-item creation launches, the minimum necessary material will be sent from the server to the disclosed provider. Students will review proposed items before using them. Provider terms, retention, and data flows will be documented before real uploads are enabled.
Who receives information
PrepDrop uses service providers to host the application, authenticate accounts, store private data, and—when enabled—process study material. Providers may handle information only to perform those services. A current vendor list and data-flow map will be published before broader access. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or needed to protect users and the service.
Parent choices and control
Parents will be able to review family data, reset child access, and request deletion of uploads, Study Drops, child profiles, or the family account. Some deletion controls are still being built. Until they are available in the account, use the private contact form.
Retention and security
PrepDrop intends to keep data only as long as needed for an active account, the service requested, security, or legal obligations. Exact recovery windows and deletion timing will be published before real student uploads launch. We use managed authentication, server-side authorization, database access rules, and private storage controls, but no online service can promise perfect security.
Changes and questions
Material changes will be dated on this page and, when appropriate, shown to the parent account owner. Privacy questions or requests can be sent through the private contact form.
